Con­grat­u­la­tions to James Skel­ton who has been announced as a win­ner in the com­mer­cial cat­e­go­ry of the Lawyers Week­ly 30 Under 30 awards for 2017.

James is one of 30 young guns recog­nised as the best young tal­ent in the Aus­tralian legal pro­fes­sion. Each can­di­date was judged on their sub­mis­sion of work over the past 12 months, their lead­er­ship with­in their firm and their con­tri­bu­tions to the legal profession.

James is an asso­ciate of Swaab Attor­neys’ cor­po­rate, com­mer­cial and intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty prac­tice with a focus on busi­ness advice, cor­po­rate and com­mer­cial trans­ac­tions, com­mer­cial­i­sa­tion of intel­lec­tu­al prop­er­ty rights and brand pro­tec­tion strategies.

James has pre­vi­ous­ly been a final­ist in the 2016 Aus­tralian Law Awards for Young Gun of the Year’ and was also a final­ist in the Lawyers Week­ly 30 Under 30’ Awards in 2015.

In addi­tion to his work at Swaab Attor­neys, James was elect­ed an Exec­u­tive Coun­cil­lor of NSW Young Lawyers in 2015 and has been appoint­ed to the Diver­si­ty and Inclu­sion Com­mit­tee of the Law Soci­ety of NSW. James also sits on the board of promi­nent Syd­ney char­i­ty — The Auro­ra Group.
