Daniel is a senior associate in our Property, Projects & Planning group and was admitted to practice in October 2015. As demonstrated by his ‘recent experience’, Daniel’s skills and experience are well beyond his PAE, having worked closely with Mary Digiglio (Managing Partner) for 7 years whilst completing his legal studies. Prior to his admission, Daniel was a paralegal and graduate at law in Swaab’s Property team. This wealth of experience has allowed Daniel to develop strong legal, practical and commercial knowledge. Daniel acts for a diverse range of clients, including Top 30 ASX listed entities, international funds, land developers and international hotel chains.

RECENT EXPERIENCE
  • Large-scale commercial property acquisitions and disposals for multi-national investment funds, the most recent of which involved:
    • the acquisition of a commercial CBD building worth circa $330 million; and
    • the disposal of a portfolio of CBD commercial, retail and strata assets, with value totaling circa $130 million
  • Landlord leasing and general property advice for international and local property funds with respect to commercial, premium retail and industrial assets Australia-wide
  • Secondment with a leading Australian private health care provider, and acting for them in relation to:
    • the implementation and expansion of a new franchise system (including research and advice on structuring and creation of precedent documents);
    • preparation of security documents;
    • co-ordination of the acquisition of numerous businesses and carrying out commercial and property related work in relation to same, including due diligence, lease negotiation, assignment, variation and subleasing
  • Landlord and tenant leasing, dispute work and general property advice for the Australia-wide assets of a leading Australian private health care provider
  • Dispute matters
  • Undertaking property related corporate and commercial work, including:
    • drafting joint venture agreements;
    • drafting shareholder and unitholder agreements (including acting on disputes and maintenance of associated records);
    • incorporation of special purpose vehicle entities;
    • work related to personal property securities
  • Drafting, negotiating, entering into and completion of assignment of approximately 2 dozen call options over entire residential street blocks in North Sydney (2 matters of this type) from the outset to completion – the transaction value of which exceeded $100 million
  • Transferring numerous commercial properties and Crown Land holdings as a result of corporate restructures
  • Providing property-related advice to NSW Government agencies, including preparation of complex property due diligence reports
  • Undertaking research on varied and complex topics and providing advice
  • Landlord leasing for a high net worth family owned shopping centre and retail/commercial portfolio on the Gold Coast and Queensland regional centres
  • Landlord leasing for a high net worth private family owned retail, commercial and industrial portfolio with assets located in Mascot, Ingleburn, Campbelltown and Crown Land holdings at Berowra Waters
  • High volume off-the-plan conveyancing for multiple developments on the South Coast
  • Management of community lot sales for a beachside development in Coffs Harbour
  • Undertaking research and providing advice on varied and complex topics
  • Data room management - extensive experience in managing complex data rooms for large scale and high-profile matters, which involves: data room set up, reviewing non-disclosure agreements, issuing login details, document management of content, client and third party point of contact
